A reporter from Science and Technology Daily learned from the Science and Technology Bureau of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia on May 7 that a magnetic graphene prepared with an independent new technology has entered the industrialization development stage with the support of the Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Project. The project adopts an efficient and controllable preparation method to synthesize new materials, which breaks through the technical bottleneck of industrialized preparation of high-performance magnetic graphene composite materials and fills the gap in the industrial production of magnetic graphene in my country.
New technology makes graphene magnetic
With the development of science and technology and the expansion of market demand, the existing graphene materials on the market have been unable to meet the needs of some fields, and some emerging graphene composite materials need to be developed urgently.

"The key and difficulty in the industrialization of new graphene materials is the preparation and transfer technology of related materials." Introduced by Li Shuangjun, deputy general manager of Inner Mongolia Yuanci New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yuanci New Materials), the undertaking unit of the magnetic graphene project. , In 2016, the enterprise R&D team and the School of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry of Harbin Institute of Technology began to cooperate closely to jointly develop the preparation process of magnetic graphene.
Through innovations in materials, properties and production processes, the R&D team makes magnetic particles loaded on the surface of graphene, creating a multi-functional composite material with graphene as the matrix that integrates magnetic and electrical properties.
"Magnetic particles are loaded on the surface of graphene to realize the controllable assembly and close combination of two different functional components to form an integrated functional composite material. On the basis of exerting their respective functions, they complement each other and create a graphene-based composite material. The magnetic material of the matrix." Li Shuangjun told reporters that magnetic graphene has won the first batch of new materials certification in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 2020, and is expected to play a broad application prospect in the fields of electromagnetic shielding and electromagnetic wave modulation, national defense and military industry, and new energy applications.
The preparation process realizes the green and high yield of materials
According to Li Shuangjun, there are two traditional ways to obtain magnetic graphene materials. One is to physically mix magnetic materials such as iron, cobalt, and nickel with carbon materials. The composite materials produced by this physical mixing method are easy to occur. Separation does not work as expected. The other is chemically prepared by cracking and compounding various raw materials in organic solvents. The product is formed in the liquid phase, which requires multiple washings and complex separation steps to complete, which causes huge pressure on environmental protection and resource utilization.
In order to overcome the shortcomings of the above processes, the R&D team has continuously optimized the process technology and innovatively developed a magnetic graphene industrial production and preparation platform. The magnetic graphene material produced by this preparation platform has reached the domestic leading level in terms of size, parameter index, production reliability and stability.
